If you or a loved one are searching for addiction treatment, one of the most immediate questions people ask is about health insurance and if it will cover their treatment costs. People want to know whether or not they have the right policy that will be accepted by rehab facilities they are interested in. The good news is that the Mental Health Parity and Addictions Equity Act (MHPAEA) from 2010 and updated in 2014 is still the law on the books right now. This means that insurance plans are required to offer substance abuse treatment benefits as part of an insurance plan. The MHPAEA mandates that since addiction and alcoholism are considered diseases, they must be treated with the same amount of financial coverage that other chronic and debilitating diseases require. What this means is that insurance plans, by law, must cover most (if not all) of the cost of a substance abuse rehab program.

The Mental Health Parity and Addictions Equity Act (MHPAEA) requires group insurers to ensure that the financial requirements and treatment limitations that apply to mental health and substance use benefits are no more restrictive than the predominant financial requirements and treatment limitations for medical and surgical benefits covered by the plan. What Insurance Does Evoke Accept?

Evoke Wellness at Miramar accepts all major insurance plans. Our admissions specialists are experienced in locating substance abuse and mental health benefits inside a person’s policy. If you are unsure whether or not you have an insurance plan with substance abuse and mental health benefits, our insurance verification staff specialists will be able to decipher and uncover numerous benefits that will cover the cost of treatment. The cost of drug rehab varies depending on the type of treatment a person needs to overcome his or her addictions. The first step in the process to be admitted into one of our drug and alcohol treatment programs is to speak with an admissions counselor. The counselor will conduct a brief interview with the person who needs help to determine what rehab program is best for them. Some clients require to go to detox while others do not. Similarly, some clients will need long term treatment at an inpatient program while and others will need to remain employed during their treatment program, and an intensive outpatient program would better suit their needs. Because of the many differences in in-person addiction history, their treatment needs will require one of our counselors first to assess them over the phone. Once the admissions counselor has completed their assessment of the client’s rehab program needs, and the client is comfortable with the type of program they will attend, the next step is to interpret their insurance policy. Evoke Wellness at Miramar does not require that a person has insurance to be admitted into any of our treatment programs. Many of our clients attend their treatment program through self-pay, which we work to minimize the financial burden by offering different payment plans and options.
